Job summary

Electrum is seeking an Intermediate Engineering Release Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Cape Town to coordinate the software release process within Engineering, from planning to go-live. This role blends project, program, and Scrum Master responsibilities with a strong focus on planning, execution, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• University degree required; 4 years PM experience in software projects.
• Experience coordinating releases with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies and Scrum.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to document releases and report on progress.
• Experience with release lifecycle ownership.
• Experience with release management tools.
• Fintech or software domain experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly release planning with engineering leads.
• Manage release lifecycle and track milestones.
• Assess risks, scope, and quality for releases.
• Report progress and risk status to stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Prototype and adopt new release tools and workflows.
