Job summary

Electrum seeks a Software Engineering Team Lead in Cape Town to guide a cloud-focused engineering group. You will supervise provisioning, security, and cost management of Electrum’s cloud infrastructure, coordinating with stakeholders and the leadership team.

You will drive hands-on architecture while mentoring engineers, using AWS, Linux, and Infrastructure-as-Code. A background in Fintech is highly valued, with a strong emphasis on delivery and ISO-aligned security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-3+ years of technical team leadership or management experience.
• 3-5 years of hands-on software development and cloud operations/infrastructure management.
• Domain experience in Fintech or payment platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of cloud engineers for provisioning, maintenance, and security of Electrum's cloud infrastructure.
• Drive design and implementation for cloud infrastructure, VPCs, and networking using AWS services, Linux, and IaC best practices.
• Manage delivery using Agile/Scrum to ensure on-time, high-quality releases.
• Collaborate with departments to prioritise releases and optimize cloud systems.
• Oversee security controls, encryption, access management, and ISO-compliance in cloud environments.
