Job summary

Bradford Jacobs BV is seeking an Accounting Implementation Specialist for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will help finance teams onboard data, configure software, and optimise accounting workflows.

You will work with CFOs and controllers to ensure accurate data migration, reporting, and training, while managing multiple client projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–3 years' experience across accounting, finance, customer service or client-facing roles.
• Knowledge of ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87 and/or GASB 96 preferred.
• Experience with lease accounting, contract management or financial reporting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Onboard financial and contract data into accounting software for new and existing clients.
• Review lease/contract documentation and capture data accurately in the system.
• Assist clients with data collection, preparation and uploads.
• Configure software per client requirements and data.
• Reconcile balances including prepayments and accruals; advise adjustments.
• Provide expertise on journal entries, reporting, data entry and workflows.
• Deliver client training and explain accounting processes clearly.
• Support and resolve client queries and professional services requests.
• Advise finance teams on best practices for accounting and contract management.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time project delivery.

Overview

We are looking for an Accounting Implementation Specialist to join a growing technology business delivering software solutions that automate complex accounting and financial management processes.

This is a client-facing role where you will combine your accounting knowledge, technical skills and customer service experience to help finance teams successfully implement and use accounting software.

You will work closely with CFOs, Controllers and accounting teams, helping them onboard financial data, configure software, reconcile accounts, understand reporting and get maximum value from the platform.

The Role

• Support new and existing clients with the onboarding of financial and contract data into accounting software.
• Review lease and contract documentation and ensure information is accurately captured within the system.
• Assist clients with data collection, preparation and uploading.
• Configure software based on client requirements and financial data.
• Reconcile account balances, including prepayments and accruals, and support clients with required adjustments.
• Provide expertise across journal entries, reporting, data entry and financial workflows.
• Deliver client training and explain accounting processes and software functionality clearly.
• Provide ongoing support and resolve client queries and professional services requests.
• Advise finance teams on accounting and contract management best practices.
• Work closely with internal teams and customers to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.
• Manage multiple projects and client requirements within a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all work follows company processes and standards.

About You

We are looking for someone with a combination of accounting/finance knowledge, strong attention to detail and excellent client-facing skills.

You should have:

• Working knowledge of lease accounting, ideally including ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87 and/or GASB 96.
• Understanding of contract lifecycle management and the accounting treatment of prepayments and accruals.
• 1–3 years' experience across accounting, finance, customer service or client-facing roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Confidence working directly with clients and explaining financial concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Experience working with financial software, SaaS platforms or accounting systems.
• Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace would be advantageous.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience working with lease accounting, contract management or financial reporting software.
• Previous experience in a software implementation, professional services, customer success or consulting environment.

This is a fully remote role, but you must be based in South Africa.
