Job summary

Yoco is seeking a FinOps Analyst in Cape Town to optimize cloud and SaaS spend across AWS, Azure and GCP. You will partner with Engineering, Finance and Procurement to drive cost transparency, governance, and measurable savings.

Bring 3–8 years of FinOps or cloud Ops experience, strong SQL/spreadsheet skills, and a track record of negotiating favorable vendor terms. This hybrid role offers growth and impactful tech-finance exposure.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Operations, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience managing cloud spend in AWS and ideally across Azure and GCP.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing models, discount structures and optimisation techniques.
• Ability to interrogate large datasets and build analyses using SQL, spreadsheets, or billing exports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost visibility dashboards for cloud and SaaS spend across departments.
• Monitor and optimise spend across AWS, Azure, and GCP with RI, Savings Plans, and discounts.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities by rightsizing, storage optimisation, and workload efficiency.
• Govern SaaS licensing and utilization to align with business needs and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Procurement to establish FinOps best practices.
• Lead commercial discussions with vendors to negotiate pricing and terms.
• Investigate anomalies and cost spikes, providing actionable mitigation recommendations.
• Deliver regular reporting and insights to leadership for informed decisions.
