Placements24 is seeking a Head Chef for a prestigious fine dining restaurant in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, to lead the culinary team with a passion for exquisite cuisine and innovative menu development. You will oversee all kitchen operations, manage staff, control costs, ensure HACCP compliance, and deliver an unparalleled guest experience in the celebrated Stellenbosch wine region.

This senior role requires at least 8 years’ progressive culinary experience, 4 years in a Head Chef position,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive culinary experience.
• 4+ years in Head Chef or Executive Chef role in fine dining.
• Formal culinary education from a recognized institution.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen brigade with a culture of excellence.
• Design and execute innovative, seasonal menus highlighting local produce.
• Oversee kitchen operations with focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Manage inventory, food sourcing, and supplier relationships to control costs.
• Ensure HACCP and other health/safety regulations are strictly followed.
• Manage kitchen budgets including food costs and labor.
• Collaborate with front-of-house to ensure exceptional guest experience.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and train staff.
