Black Pen Recruitment's client is a technology company seeking a FinCrime Insights & Systems Analyst to shape AML and fraud detection across fiat and crypto, in multiple jurisdictions. The role sits at the intersection of data, systems, and financial crime strategy.

You'll own reporting, dashboards, and tooling, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and AML/fraud teams to build proactive controls and rule sets. Hybrid in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Crime (AML, fraud, or both) within fintech/payments/crypto.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end AML and fraud reporting framework and alerting across fiat and crypto, ensuring regulator-ready outputs.
• Be the primary insights engine for AML and fraud teams, delivering dashboards and analyses to enable faster investigations.
• Manage and improve systems powering financial crime detection and response, partnering with Data, Product and Engineering.
• Proactively identify emerging AML/fraud typologies and call them out early for action.
• Assist in managing and tuning AML/fraud rules engines to improve detection and reduce false positives.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, AML and fraud teams to implement proactive controls before risk materialises.
• Develop AML/fraud signals with Product, Engineering, Data, and fraud teams to feed detection systems.
