Job summary

A leading company in Johannesburg seeks a Financial Accountant to manage the full accounting function and assist the Financial Manager. This role requires strong qualifications in accounting and significant experience with internal controls, VAT submissions, and staff management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Sage Accpac and Advanced Excel, alongside excellent problem-solving and time management skills.

Job description

This position is to oversee the full Accounting Function of the company and to assist the Financial Manager when necessary. Previously worked as an Accountant and Management of staff is required. Below requirements are not limited to :

• Diploma / Bachelors of Commerce in Accounting
• Sage Accpac (300) experience
• Advanced Excel
• IFRS Standards
• Hands on approach

• Time management
• Banking and cash experience of local and foreign
• Accounts receivable â reconciliation of AR sub-ledger to general ledger
• VAT â monthly VAT 201 submissions and reconciliations
• Procurement â completion and submission of month consumption orders
• Internal controls â ensure sufficient controls are in place
• Inventory â review requisitions and create stock codes
• Expense analysis
• Monthly payroll journals
• Assist with month-end and quarterly reporting
• BBBEE & ESG Sustainability reporting
• Health & Safety
