Context & Environment

Internal Contacts: Operations, finance, Paris group consolidation department, and internal audit.

  • Cross functionality required through interaction with other divisions.
  • Ensuring that financial information is valid, useful, accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Providing recommendations to management regarding internal controls and operational issues.
  • Problem solving.
  • Evaluation of information from other departments.
  • Ensure IFRS compliance during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.

External Contacts: External auditors and stakeholders.

Activities

Accounting and Reporting

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly CAP report submissions to Paris.
  • Reconcile CAP intercompany balances and follow up on variances.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on open items.
  • Investigate unknown bank open items, ensuring they are not older than 30 days.
  • Compile, analyze, and capture journal entries on Docuware.
  • Calculate inter-company charges and their billing.
  • Assist with the preparation of Annual Financial Statements for TMSA and TERSA.
  • Ensure HR bank transactions are cleared monthly.
  • Reconcile Docuware, SAP Fiori, and other systems to SAP.
  • Ensure timely re-invoicing of HR costs.
  • Review departmental policies and procedures for updates.
  • Review and approve departmental invoices for payments.
  • Review transactions processed by the Shared Service Centre.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the Shared Service Centre.
  • Prepare information for audits (internal and external) and liaise with auditors.
  • Prepare monthly departmental KPI reports.
  • Attend to ad hoc requests from management.
  • Review GL open items and perform clearing.

Business Development

  • Participate in current and future IT projects impacting the group's financial statements and business operations.
  • Assist in optimizing technology use to improve information flow for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify non-value-adding processes and implement improved accounting procedures.

HSEQ

  • Ensure adherence and compliance with company HSEQ and security standards, local laws, and legislation to minimize risks to assets and personnel.

Candidate Profile

As a Group Accountant, you should possess:

Qualifications:

Accounting or Audit articles with 5 years of relevant commercial experience.
