Job summary

A leading company in export credit insurance is seeking a Finance Professional to manage financial reporting, prepare stakeholder reports, and coordinate the annual audit process. The successful candidate will have an Accounting degree, CA(SA) or CIMA, and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential for this role, which involves interaction with various stakeholders including auditors and internal management.

Job description

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE

The purpose of this job is to prepare financial reports of the organisation. The role assists the Head of Finance with supervision of finance professionals including graduate trainee(s).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES

  • Prepare and/or file Statutory returns (PROV TAX and ITR14)
  • Review the audit file;
  • Prepare stakeholder reports (Board and management, Dtic, Prudential Authority, Financial Sector Conduct Authority , National Treasury and SARB);
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts;
  • Preparation of the corporate annual financial statements in accordance to IFRS and ECIC’s accounting policies
  • Coordination of the audit process and liaison with internal and external auditors;
  • Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards e.g. preparation of the implementation plan and related deliverables
  • Co-develops the required best practice, systems and procedures to achieve business goals.
    Assist with adhoc assignments as requested by the Head of Finance or CFO

Key Measures

  • Timely submission of stakeholder reports
  • Number of audit observations;
  • Compliance with procedural and legislative requirements;
  • Management of client relationships and key stakeholders;

Key Interfaces

  • ECIC Executives and Managers
  • Other business unit particularly Investments, Actuarial , Portfolio management and PEAR;
  • Internal and External Auditors

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An Accounting degree with articles;
  • CA(SA) or CIMA is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience (3 years of articles and 2 years post article experience in a financial institution)
