What will you do?
The role involves providing professional financial advice, planning, and suitable products to both new and existing clients. You will aim to procure sustainable, high-quality business aligned with set targets. Maintaining and servicing these clients fosters long-term loyalty, ongoing advice, and sales. All activities must be conducted ethically and compliantly to build and sustain the Sanlam Group's business and brand.

- Engage in networking, prospecting, and lead generation through face-to-face interactions, social, or business events.
- Convert trusted relationships into business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships by increasing service levels.
- Utilize existing sources to identify opportunities across Sanlam businesses.
- Create personalized client value propositions and leverage social media for marketing.
- Generate leads through client-focused activities and identify marketing gaps within the target market.
- Implement focused campaigns and solicit ongoing leads and referrals.
- Monitor client activities such as maturities, cancellations, or surrenders within the target market.
- Conduct client consultations, ensuring all interactions comply with disclosure and advice standards, including comprehensive fact-finding and financial needs analysis.
- Provide sound financial planning advice, presenting solutions professionally and aligned with fair customer treatment principles.
- Use systems to record analysis and update client records, reviewing portfolios annually.
- Deliver excellent, ethical, and courteous client service, following up on queries and ensuring client retention.
- Engage in continuous learning about industry issues to better serve clients.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships, regularly monitoring and reporting on activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12
- Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) 'Fit and Proper' requirements
- Regulatory Examination completed successfully (if registered with FSCA for over 24 months)
- Experience in sales, retail, or business development roles
