Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Person to join our finance team.

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to managing financial records and accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and general accounts.
  2. Oversee the processing of incoming payments and outgoing invoices, including collections and supplier/customer payment management.
  3. Reconcile bank and creditor statements, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  4. Reconcile all accounts up to VAT level.
  5. Follow up on overdue accounts and manage collections processes.
  6. Reconcile refunds and online portals accurately.
  7. Manage end-user orders efficiently.
  8. Reconcile accounts across all our associated companies.
  9. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and audits.
  10. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including VAT and tax submissions.
  11. Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., BCom Accounting, National Diploma in Accounting).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a corporate or SME environment.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, or SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  4. Strong understanding of VAT, tax regulations, and general financial compliance in South Africa.
  5. Experience in managing debtors and creditors, including reconciliations and collections.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  7. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  8. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
