Job description

Financial Operations Manager

Our client, a leader in the market, is seeking a Gauteng-based Financial Operations Manager with completed Articles and at least 5 years' experience in a general financial management position.

Responsibilities
  1. Display leadership by identifying and managing training, coaching, and development requirements.
  2. Deliver financial planning and results by aligning strategies with BBBEE transformational agenda.
  3. Manage stakeholder relationships.
  4. Own the annual audit process and financial statements.
  5. Oversee asset control and fixed asset accounting.
  6. Prepare and review taxation and ensure tax compliance (including income tax, VAT, and gambling tax).
  7. Prepare and maintain budgets.
  8. Compile reports and financial packs for submission to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications & Experience
  • BComm in Finance or Accounting with Articles or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' staff management experience.
  • Registration with a Professional Accounting body is advantageous.
  • Experience in a hospitality or gaming environment is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of South African tax laws and gambling tax is advantageous.
  • Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and accounting software (preferably Great Plains), as well as fixed asset management software.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
