Activities

This role involves providing financial management, including managing accounting flows, ensuring effective internal controls, and maintaining management information systems during project construction and operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Finance and Corporate Affairs Manager and support the Project Manager.
  • Support operational activities of the business.
  • Manage external contacts and convert operational data into financial information.
  • Handle bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
  • Establish and manage accounting procedures for incoming and outgoing flows.
  • Ensure internal controls and management information systems are effective.
  • Monitor costs against budgets and produce financial reports.
  • Manage lender reporting and ensure compliance with finance documents.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders such as NERSA, ESKOM, lenders, municipalities, and others.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory bodies like CIPC, SARS, COIDA, B-BBEE.
  • Implement the company's strategic decisions and governance policies.
  • Oversee corporate administrative services, revenue control, contract management, and vendor accounts.
  • Support social investment programs, manage Green Rights/Carbon Credits, insurance, and financing.
  • Handle tax administration.
General Financial Management Tasks
  • Prepare budgets and ensure expenditures stay within limits.
  • Manage cash flows and authorize payments.
  • Produce financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain debt levels within covenants.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience with REIPPPP projects from bidding to operations.
  • Chartered Accountant or similar qualification with project finance expertise.
  • 5-8 years in infrastructure asset management.
  • Knowledge of compliance, contractual, and legislative impacts on assets.
  • Ability to interpret financial models and forecast impacts.
  • Detail-oriented with process discipline.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience as a financial accountant, with solid bookkeeping and regulatory knowledge.
