JOB OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experiencedFinancial Manager/Senior Accountantto manage offshore trusts' financial reporting and administration. This role has a dual focus: preparing annual financial statements during the first half of the year and acting as a trust officer during the second half. In addition, you will handle the monthly accounting of the business using Xero.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

January - May:

  • Compile annual financial statements for offshore trusts.
  • Draft from General Ledgers to Trial Balances and final Annual Financial Statements.

June - December:
  • Act as a Trust Officer, managing day-to-day offshore trust matters and administrative functions.

Ongoing throughout the year:
  • Perform monthly accounting duties for the business using Xero.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Strong knowledge of offshore trust structures and accounting practices.
  • Proficient in drafting financial statements from scratch (GL TB AFS).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with Xero cloud accounting software.
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • BComm degree.
  • SAIPA qualified (non-negotiable).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • 3 years post-article experience (non-negotiable).
  • At least 5/6 years of experience in a similar role.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
  • Prior exposure to international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
  • Experience with offshore fiduciary services.
  • Knowledge of tax implications relating to offshore trusts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with financial reporting software/tools beyond Xero.
