Job description

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related is essential for the role.
  • Previous experience having worked within a Financial Manager role within a manufacturing industry is essential.
  • A solid understanding of costing experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Previous management experience having managed a finance team is preferred for the role.
  • The successful candidate must have accounting processing and financial reporting systems knowledge, exposure and experience.
  • Previous experience working on Pastel Partner is preferred.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work on their own initiative and time management.
  • Excellent analytical ability and interpersonal skills as well as strong data management skills.
  • Must have extensive experience with regards to budgeting and cashflow management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Taking full ownership for all financial accounting, financial management and financial reporting functions within the company.
  • Overseeing overall HR and payroll functions for the company.
  • Producing financial reports, managing cashflow and developing strategies to achieve the long-term financial goals of the company.
  • Establishing and overseeing budgeting preparation, management and monitoring processes.
  • Preparing year end audit packs, liaising with auditors.
  • Preparing management and board packs and attending senior management meetings.
  • Performing financial analysis, reporting and management activities.
  • Ensuring that the financial reports are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Monitoring and managing all expenses within the allotted budget. Review annual budgets and recommend any changes if needed.
  • Establishing key financial strategies to enhance business profitability.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting in accordance with IFRS and SARS.
  • Ensuring appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the process for financial and bee audits.
  • Improving and implementing automated reporting systems to streamline financial reporting processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Overseeing all regulatory compliance, i.e. income TAX, VAT, CIPC, BEE, etc.
  • Reviewing project performance and performing budget vs actual comparatives.
