Qualifications

  • CA(SA) with 0-2 years post-article experience or CIMA/SAIPA with over 3 years in Financial Management.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office and accounting software required.

Job description

We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Financial Manager– possessing a robust financial acumen, deep-set analytical skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset – to join us in changing the way people send and receive parcels. You will be an integral part of the finance team and will assist on both a finance and operational level. Your Responsibilities :

Management of the finance team and the achievement of financial objectives.

Perform all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate / overhead cost allocation.

Preparation of management accounts, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance and managing the day-to-day accounting activities.

Prepare the financial reporting, analysis, and forecasts to ensure timely and accurate reporting and planning

Own responsibility for VAT / EMP 201 returns and other statutory / regulatory submissions

Assist and provide input about operating controls, to automate systems for scalability

Assist with the development of financial controls, financial policies, procedures and guidelines, risk assessment, and management to ensure that financial risks are identified and addressed

Monitoring of the annual budget every quarter in coordination with various departments

Review and perform Weekly / monthly reconciliations of revenue and cost of sales between the inventory system, accounting system, and merchant database for the weekly and monthly sales reports

Review and management of monthly payroll and other ad-hoc duties as required.

Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

Preparing annual audit documentation for external audit firms, including closing off, and liaising with auditors.

Maintaining and attending to all company secretarial duties

Own the overall Financial operations.

Requirements

CA(SA) with 0-2 years post-article experience OR

CIMA / SAIPA or equivalent with over 3 years of Financial Management experience

Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases
