Job description

Financial Manager
Reference: CAW-CH-1
Location: Johannesburg North, Gauteng

Duties & Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has come available with our client who is looking for a Financial Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Managing a team and overseeing all functions for the team
  2. Acting as a Bank Signatory, including releasing EFT payments and updating creditor banking details
  3. Authorizing journals
  4. Managing the Point of Sale (POS) system, including releasing purchase orders
  5. Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and conducting income statement analysis
  6. Reviewing monthly statistical reporting and Group charges, including Group VAT submissions
  7. Preparing Quarterly Statistical Reports for STATS SA
  8. Handling year-end audits and budgets for Support Services, including preparation and consolidation of accounts, assistance with Group Consolidation, and preparation of annual financial statements for Dormant companies
  9. Preparing flash reports, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and forecasts
  10. Assisting departmental management with queries and budgets
  11. Managing monthly group support services fringe benefit company car schedules for payroll, including deduction schedules
  12. Conducting monthly budget vs actual variance analysis
  13. Ensuring control procedures are in place and operating effectively
  14. Handling ad hoc Group management accounting tasks
Minimum Requirements

A Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting
Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a similar capacity
