Job description

Head of Finance

The role of the Head of Finance involves overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the company in pursuit of its strategy.

The Head of Finance will lead and manage the finance team during critical periods such as month-end, year-end, and quarterly budgeting. Excellent communication skills with staff, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels are essential.

He / She will collaborate with all departments to help plan and manage budgets, forecasts, and OKRs, understand key variances, and validate and recommend remedial actions.

Responsibilities
  1. Managing and reporting on company finances
  2. Financial validation and strategic recommendations
  3. Measurement and analytics
  4. Drafting and implementing financial policies and budgeting processes
  5. Producing management accounts and presenting to leadership
  6. Managing cash flow and liquidity, optimizing financial resources
  7. Advising the board on operational issues affecting finances
  8. Developing financial strategies for stability and growth
  9. Assessing and managing financial risks
  10. Liaising with auditors and overseeing audits
  11. Ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations
  12. Maintaining stakeholder relationships
  13. Managing and developing finance personnel
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in business or finance
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Minimum 8 years (or 6 years with specific industry experience) in a related role
  • Strong autonomous work ethic and motivation
  • Proficient in financial modelling and scenario analysis
  • Knowledge of UK financial regulations (advantageous)
  • Experience with companies involving outside investors, preferably VC (advantageous)
