Job description

A tertiary qualification in BComm finance or accounting or related is essential for the role.

A CA or CIMA qualification is preferred but not essential.

An MBA will be advantageous for this role.

Previous experience in a financial management role, managing a finance team within a manufacturing company (chemical or related industries), is preferred.

Experience working on SAP or a related system is essential.

Strong analytical and computer skills, including advanced MS Excel skills, are required.

Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary.

The candidate must have knowledge of accounting processing and financial reporting systems.

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and data management skills are essential.

Extensive experience in budgeting and cash flow management is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Managing and overseeing all financial and administrative functions to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  2. Handling day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly closing, group reporting, MIS, statutory audits, tax compliance, and supporting the board and organizational interactions.
  3. Analyzing and presenting monthly financial reports internationally.
  4. Conducting variance analysis against forecasts and budgets.
  5. Managing month-end closing, year-end audits, and preparing AFS.
  6. Managing cash flow, debtors, and creditors.
  7. Overseeing insurance, pensions, and medical benefits.
  8. Implementing growth and business strategies.
  9. Chairing HR interventions and disciplinary processes.
  10. Drafting policies and commercial agreements.
  11. Preparing annual budgets.
  12. Reviewing payroll, PAYE, VAT, and preparing tax submissions.
  13. Managing workplace skills plans and levies.
  14. Overseeing IT functions.
  15. Handling legal matters and business planning.
  16. Preparing tender applications and presentations.
  17. Managing commercial negotiations.
  18. Drafting internal and external communications.
  19. Overseeing inventory transactions and production processes.
  20. Reconciling inter-company balances.
  21. Managing product costing and profitability analysis.
  22. Negotiating local contracts and updating the board.
