You will lead the development and execution of the credit risk strategy to maximize the company's growth, profitability, and market share, aligning with overarching company objectives.
The successful candidate will have indirect supervision of a team of approximately 40 individuals.
The Finance Manager needs to provide efficient operational support to finance and the organization by ensuring seamless and fully integrated credit risk portfolio management for all customer classifications.Key Performance Areas : Strategic InputShape the company's credit risk framework by providing high-level strategic input.Collaborate with senior leadership to define credit policies that balance risk and reward, identify opportunities to enhance customer acquisition and retention through innovative credit solutions, and ensure alignment with the company's long-term growth and profitability goals.Leverage market insights and advanced analytics to influence decision-making and strengthen the company's competitive position in the telecommunications sector.Credit AnalyticsDesign, implement, and automate credit analytics analysis across revenue streams.Collaborate with the business to identify solutions that drive profitability using analytical feedback.Build reporting and analytics environments to facilitate decision-making.Implement Big Data analysis to derive financial insights.Develop channel profitability analyses.Manage ongoing evaluation of consumer portfolios or new products / services.Maintain and circulate benchmarking data with similar telecommunications companies.Review assumptions underlying financial models for reasonableness and completeness.Interact with billing, legal, technology, and network teams to ensure comprehensive financial analysis.Define and implement credit risk scorecards aligned with risk trends.Implement fraud detection and management systems to mitigate fraud risk.Maintain relationships with bureau service providers to ensure alignment with credit risk and billing deliverables.Data AnalysisIntegrate data from various systems and sources to support credit risk analysis.Validate data definitions and ensure accurate interpretation of reports.Create and promote mathematical models for decision-making.Assess and enhance data sources for analytical projects.Coordinate with IS teams for data extraction support.Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the department.Controlling and ReportingPrepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for management.Corroborate data to develop business insights.Ensure compliance with reporting standards and business rules.Assess IFRS 9 compliance and address gaps.Monitor report compilation and ensure value addition.Manage data requests and present findings appropriately.Education : Advanced degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.Minimum 8-10 years of experience in credit risk analytics, strategy, and model development.Proven leadership managing teams of 10+ individuals.In-depth knowledge of IFRS 9 and its application.Strong background in credit modeling, preferably in banking or similar sectors.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Experience : 5 years in Management Accounting.At least 3 years in Credit.Extensive IFRS 9 experience ensuring compliance with international standards, including overseeing ECL implementation.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesTelecommunications
