Job description

Job Description: Financial Manager

We are seeking a Financial Manager to oversee the full financial accounting function for our sports betting operations, utilizing Xero accounting software. The role includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Maintaining bank accounts and mobile money accounts, and performing bank reconciliations.
  2. Assisting with daily, monthly, and year-end financial processes.
  3. Managing operating expenses, reconciliations, and submissions.
  4. Processing accounts, including general ledger entries, month-end closing, and reconciliations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of tax packs and submissions.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and timely submission of reports to regulatory bodies and tax authorities.
  • Liaising with auditors for year-end audits and the preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
  • Engaging with stakeholders such as betting software providers, office managers, and bankers.
  • Assisting with payroll management and administration.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of tax rules, with the ability to learn rules in other jurisdictions.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel and Xero.
  • Understanding of business processes.
  • Analytical skills.
