Job description

Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate, located on the scenic Stellenbosch Wine Route, is seeking a results-driven Financial Manager with a strong commercial mindset and a highly structured approach to financial management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on business environment. Punctuality, precision, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments are key.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full financial function of the business – ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting, sound governance, and effective financial administration. This role plays a critical part in supporting the business’s ability to achieve profitability and sustainable growth. Strong capabilities in reporting, financial administration, and financial secretarial duties are required.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Corporate governance
  • Financial Planning
  • Financial Reporting to internal & external stakeholders
  • Investor and Stakeholder Relations
  • Team Leadership and Development
  • Oversight and control of the HR, finance, and accounting functions, including: Budgeting and Forecasting, Cost Management and Profitability, Risk Management, Cash Flow Management, Operational and Supply Chain Finance, and HR compliance.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance;
  • Minimum 7 years’ financial and cost management experience, with at least 3 years’ in a senior managerial role;
  • A solid understanding of the wine and hospitality sectors is essential; experience in the agriculture/agri-tourism sector will be highly advantageous;
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and corporate finance principles.
