PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The successful candidate will oversee the financial function of the business, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while providing meaningful financial analysis and commercial input to support sound decision‑making, profitability and sustainable growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the full financial function of the business.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial and management reports.
- Maintain and improve financial systems, procedures, controls and accounting processes.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Monitor the cost chain, analyse variances and implement corrective actions where required.
- Analyse costs and profitability and identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and margins.
- Develop and monitor relevant financial and operational KPIs and management reporting.
- Provide financial analysis, insights and decision support to operational and executive management.
- Manage working capital requirements, including cash flow forecasting and funding requirements.
- Prepare financial statements and coordinate the annual audit process.
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to management.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls and overall business performance.
- Manage and mentor finance team members, fostering accountability and professional development.
REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' post-article experience in a financial management role.
- Previous management experience of approximately 2–3 years.
- Experience within agriculture, fruit production, packing, manufacturing or a similar operational environment will be advantageous.
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and management accounting experience.
- Strong analytical, commercial and problem‑solving abilities.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- A proactive and autonomous approach to work.
- High levels of integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
