Job description

TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Financial Manager within the Timber division at Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Lead financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple operations and countries to support the business objectives
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with actionable insights
  • Revise forecasts as needed to reflect changes in business conditions
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital investment projects including developing and implementing cash flow forecasts and strategies to enhance working capital efficiencies
  • Develop pricing strategies that align with market conditions and business goals and ensure accurate pricing of products and controls around pricing
  • Conduct competitive analysis to ensure pricing is optimised for profitability and market share
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to adjust pricing based on demand and cost changes
  • Monitor and analyse production costs to identify trends and variances, implement cost- saving initiative and improvements on efficiencies
  • Provide detailed reports on production cost performance and recommend adjustments as necessary
  • Analyse existing financial processes and identify areas for improvement, develop and implement streamlined processes to enhance efficiency and best practices
  • Design and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity
  • Manage capital expenditure projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals including the tracking of return on investments (ROI) major projects
  • Guide and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of performance, growth and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with other departments and communicate financial insights to management and other non-financial stakeholders including the preparation of board presentations

Qualifications And Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent professional certification
  • 5–7 years’ experience in a financial management role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proficient in financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, AS400, and advanced Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of financial management principles and practices
  • Understanding of the industry and its financial dynamics
  • Familiarity with financial regulations, compliance standards, and risk management
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and ability to influence decision-making
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Nelspruit
  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans (advantageous)
