Job Title : Senior Manager in Finance
The role will support the Head of Finance and the CFO in administrative, financial, and risk management operations, specifically on projects, managing daily operations, reporting accurate financial results, and implementing financial procedures to improve or maintain the financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Financial Management and Reporting
Manage daily functions to ensure a stable financial infrastructure that supports future organizational demands.
Manage daily operations by:
- Verifying the accuracy and quality of all financial information, ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards and generally accepted accounting practices.
- Ensuring performance measures and monitoring systems support the organization's strategic direction.
- Overseeing reporting, monitoring, and recording systems to maintain high financial integrity.
- Implementing procedures and policies aligned with industry best practices.
- Applying the designed core cost structure and basis of recovery monthly for projects.
- Monitoring cash flow, cash balances, and forecasts to ensure sustainability.
- Reviewing creditor reconciliations monthly as per finance timetable.
- Authorizing EFT payments and supporting documentation.
- Overseeing the issuance of financial information.
- Promoting efficient management of financial resources, high performance, and value for money.
- Reviewing and improving financial policies, systems, and practices to enable automation and self-service benefits.
- Analyzing, interpreting, and communicating financial and performance data, providing advice, and influencing decision-making to meet budgets and targets.
- Monitoring budget expenditure to ensure alignment with requirements.
- Preparing robust budgets, testing assumptions, and ensuring quality and risk mitigation.
- Preparing and presenting various reports, including monthly management packs and ad-hoc reports.
- Managing vendor relationships, tracking supplier spending, and consolidating vendor registration information in collaboration with Procurement.
- Meeting monthly deadlines for donor reporting.
- Leading project management and oversight.
- Assisting with audits, including donor and statutory audits, and preparing annual financial statements.
- Building relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and stakeholders.
- Managing vendor relationships to meet organizational requirements.
- Understanding and mitigating financial risks, reporting to the DCFO, and implementing corrective measures.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- At least 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in financial management.
- Proven staff managerial and supervisory experience in cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting policies and procedures.
- Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
