Job summary

Mindworx Consulting seeks a CA(SA) senior financial reporting professional to oversee full IFRS, JSE listing, PFMA compliance for the Group and subsidiaries in Johannesburg. You will lead consolidation, implement robust controls, and drive continuous improvement using AI-enabled analytics.

Responsibilities include preparing audit files, delivering insights, and presenting to Exco and Board committees, while mentoring the team and advancing IFRS technical matters.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) with substantial post-articles experience in financial reporting management.
• Exposure to SAP system, PFMA, JSE listing and King IV reporting is preferred.
• Experience managing complex groups and IFRS technical matters.
• Experience in financial services, lending or banking is advantageous.
• Strong skills in analysis and interpretation of budget performance and annual financial statements.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and review of the Company Group and Company Annual Financial Statements ensuring compliance with full IFRS, JSE listing requirements and any other applicable legislation, including PFMA and the latest King requirements.
• Oversee and review of the Company Group Consolidated Interim Annual Financial Statements ensuring compliance with full IFRS, JSE listing requirements and any other applicable legislation, including PFMA and the latest King requirements.
• Oversee and review the preparation of the Internal Subsidiaries Annual Financial Statements.
• Review and update of the Company and Group financial reporting policies and processes.
• Implementation of adequate monthly review controls that support monthly, interim, and consolidated annual financial statements.
• Experience in designing both manual and automated internal controls for consolidation processes.
• Evaluate current processes, systems, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate enhancements.
• Continuous improvement of systems and operational control efficiencies.
• Prepare a complete year-end audit file that supports the Annual Financial Statements and facilitates the audit process.
• Provision of accurate and timely reporting on the progress and outcome of various department strategic initiatives.
• Provision of business insights, performance reports, commercial analytics on behalf of the department.
• Enhance and review monthly and quarterly financial management reports for both the Group and Company.
• Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly strategic budget variance commentary to various committees.
• Presentation of reports to the Executive Committee (Exco) and other Board committees.
• Serve as an alternate member on strategic Exco sub-committees and as a director of selected subsidiaries.
• Liaison with both internal and external auditors in relation to audit planning and the resolution of audit queries.
• Contribute to the preparation of the Integrated Report, analyst reports, and other relevant reports, as required.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects on behalf of the Department as and when required.
• Develop and implement a training plan to build and develop skills within the team.
• Provide quality customer service to internal and external clients.
• Implement performance management measures for subordinates.
• Promote innovation within the team, including the adoption and effective application of AI-enabled tools and solutions.
• Contribute actively to leading and guiding the team.
• Experience with SAP system including SAP Disclosure Management would be an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Formal qualifications)

Minimum Requirement: CA(SA) SELECTION CRITERIA (Formal qualifications, knowledge, type and length of experience and skills required to perform the job competently)

• Minimum of 8-10 years post-articles experience in a financial reporting management role or having served a minimum of 2-3 years at audit directorship level (or equivalent audit senior management with listed-group experience).
• Preferred exposure to SAP system, PFMA, JSE listing and King IV reporting requirements.
• Management of complex groups and IFRS technical matters.
• Experience in financial services/ lending /banking would be advantageous.
• Experience and knowledge in analysis and interpretation of budget performance and annual financial statements.
