Key Responsibilities:
- Full financial function of multiple statutory entities
- Preparation of consolidated Management Accounts in line with deadlines and compliance requirements
- Cashflow reporting and forecasting
- Preparation of consolidated Statement of Financial Position with audit files
- Ensure accuracy of journal capturing
- Update income tax and deferred tax calculations
- Manage accuracy of fixed asset register
- Collate financial reports for business management
- Monthly reporting to executive committee
- Analyze financial results of business units/cost centres against budgets
- Investigate and corroborate variances
- Reconciliation & submission of VAT and PAYE returns
- Liaise with SARS/tax practitioners on tax issues
- Responsible for year-end audit with external auditors
- Manage creditors reconciliations and payments
- Review and approve all payments
- Review cash cycle & bank reconciliations
- Liaise with banks on financing/banking issues
- Liaise with franchisor
- Coordinate and plan annual budget process
- Perform ad hoc tasks from CFO
People Management:
- Manage team of >10 accountants
- Manage three-member creditors team
- Provide leadership and structure
- Coach and mentor team members
- Conduct performance evaluations
Qualifications:
- B Comm degree or equivalent
- Completed Articles (SAICA / SAIPA)
- Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS), GAAP advantageous
- Experience with Evolution or similar accounting packages
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proactive, problem-solving, and team-oriented mindset
- Strong leadership experience
- South African Resident, fluent in English
