Job summary

A growing, family-owned FMCG/food and beverage business in Franschhoek, Western Cape, seeks a Financial Manager to own the group’s finance function. The role includes month-end close, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and reporting across multiple entities in an entrepreneurial environment.

You will lead a small finance team, implement controls and processes, manage stock and inventory, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles with 3–5+ years’ post-articles experience.
• Experience in multi-entity accounting, consolidations and intercompany.
• Experience in product-based FMCG/retail/wholesale environment is ideal.
• Experience building/ improving financial processes and controls.
• Exposure to stock/inventory control and multi-site operations is beneficial.
• Willingness to work onsite in Franschhoek, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of month-end activities, GL maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports to financial statements.
• Manage debtors and creditors age analyses and reconciliations.
• Perform group consolidations and intercompany transactions across entities.
• Monitor group cash flow and understand key drivers behind movements.
• Oversee stock levels and inventory control across sites.
• Develop and implement financial controls, policies and workflows.
• Work within ERP and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
• Oversee finance team reporting and support annual external audit.

Take ownership of finance for a growing, family-owned FMCG business

Role Overview

A growing, family-owned FMCG / food and beverage business is hiring a Financial Manager to take ownership of its finance function in Franschhoek, Western Cape. This is a newly created opportunity within a growing multi-entity group operating across wholesale, retail, online and hospitality.

This is an entrepreneurial environment where many processes are still being developed. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable taking ownership, solving problems and building structure rather than relying on an established corporate rulebook.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of month-end activities, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly journals across the group.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, taking the books through to financial statements.
• Manage debtors and creditors age analyses and ensure accurate and complete reconciliations.
• Perform group consolidations and manage intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
• Monitor group cash flow and understand the key drivers behind movements.
• Oversee stock levels and support inventory control across multiple sites.
• Assist with company secretarial requirements as new entities are incorporated.
• Develop and implement financial controls, policies and workflows as the business continues to grow.
• Work within the ERP environment and identify opportunities to improve systems and financial processes.
• Oversee reporting from the finance team and mentor junior team members as the department develops.
• Prepare audit schedules and support the annual external audit.

Qualifications & Experience

• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles, with approximately 3-5+ years’ post-articles experience in a commercial finance environment.
• Strong experience with multi-entity accounting, including consolidations, intercompany transactions and group reporting.
• Experience within a product-based environment such as FMCG, food & beverage, retail, wholesale, manufacturing or e-commerce.
• Experience developing or improving financial processes and controls, particularly in a growing or entrepreneurial business.
• Exposure to stock and inventory control and/or multi-site operations would be beneficial.
• Acumatica experience would be beneficial, although experience with other ERP systems will be considered.
• Willingness to work fully onsite in Franschhoek, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00

Salary & Benefits

• R720 000 - R960 000 CTC per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
