Snatch | Accounting & Finance Headhunters in Pretoria, Gauteng is seeking a Finance Manager to own daily finance operations and lead an accounting team across multiple entities.

Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee financial controls, management reporting, VAT compliance and cash flow, with a hands-on approach and focus on improving financial processes and automation.

Qualifications

• CA (SA) or AGA (SA) qualification and good standing.
• Hands-on accounting, management reporting and cash flow experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and payroll system experience.
• Experience leading an accounting/finance team and coaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly group management reports, reconciliations and journals.
• Oversee payments and banking controls, review payment runs and credit notes.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgeting, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Coordinate VAT, PAYE and Income Tax compliance with SARS and advisers.
• Lead and develop the accounting team with training and meetings.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve workflows and accuracy.
• Support payroll processing and payroll oversight.

Lead finance for a growing industrial services group

Role Overview

A growing industrial services group is hiring a Finance Managerto take ownership of its daily finance operations in Pretoria, Gauteng. This is an opportunity to lead an accounting team and improve the systems supporting a business with multiple entities.

Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee financial controls, management reporting, tax compliance and cash flow. Your remit combines hands‑on accounting with team development and practical improvements to financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce monthly group management reports, review reconciliations and journals, and prepare complex accounting entries.
• Oversee sales and banking controls, review payment runs before release, and approve credit notes with supporting documentation.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, monitor expenditure, and support annual budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Calculate and reconcile VAT, support PAYE and Income Tax compliance, and coordinate with SARS, external auditors and tax advisers.
• Lead and develop the accounting team through work allocation, review, training and weekly finance meetings.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities that improve financial workflows, accuracy and efficiency.
• Support payroll processing and management payroll oversight, including the financial implementation of HR changes.

Qualifications & Experience

• CA (SA) or AGA (SA), registered and in good standing, with 3–5 years’ relevant experience, including at least one year post-articles.
• Experience leading an accounting, finance or audit team, including delegating, reviewing work and coaching staff.
• Hands‑on financial accounting, management reporting and cash flow experience, with working knowledge of VAT, PAYE and Income Tax.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using a payroll system.
• Own reliable transport and availability for office‑based work, with early starts and extended Monday hours.
• Xero experience and evidence of implementing finance process automation would be advantageous.
• Exposure to accounting across multiple entities, holding companies or trusts would be beneficial.

Salary & Benefits

• R600 000 - R720 000 CTC per annum depending on experience
