Job summary

Sportingbet South Africa, based in Cape Town, seeks a Financial Manager to own financial planning, compliance, reporting and internal controls. You will drive strategic planning, budgeting and cost optimization while ensuring SARS, VAT and regulatory compliance in a fast-growing online gaming environment.

You will partner with EXCO to monitor KPIs like NGR, CLV and contribute to governance, reporting and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Advanced budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling.
• Experience with compliance and internal controls in SA.
• Ability to manage external auditors, banking partners and PSPs.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and budgeting aligned with corporate objectives.
• Prepare Flash Reports, management accounts and AFS with insights for EXCO.
• Manage OER and cost control; enforce financial discipline across teams.
• Ensure SA tax compliance (SARS, VAT, ITR14, EMP201/501) and internal controls.
• Oversee cash flow and relationships with financial institutions and auditors.
• Present performance metrics to EXCO on a regular basis.

Are you a sharp, driven finance leader looking to take ownership of a market-leading brand's financial strategy? Sportingbet South Africa is seeking a Financial Manager to oversee our financial planning, compliance, reporting, and internal controls.

In this role, you will work closely with EXCO to drive commercial KPIs (NGR, Contribution, CLV), optimize cost structures, and maintain seamless regulatory and tax compliance within a fast-paced, high-growth online gaming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Forecasting: Develop financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives; establish and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present Flash Reports, Management Accounts, and Annual Financial Statements (AFS) with key strategic insights for EXCO.
• Integration & Cost Control: Collaborate across operational teams to manage the Operating Expense Ratio and enforce financial discipline.
• Compliance & Risk Control: Ensure strict adherence to South African tax laws (SARS, VAT, ITR14, EMP201/501, CIPC, COIDA, DWT) and maintain robust internal controls.
• Asset & Stakeholder Management: Manage cash flow and cultivate key relationships with financial institutions, auditors, PSPs, and corporate shareholders.
• EXCO Governance: Contribute constructively to strategic decision-making and regularly present performance metrics.

Requirements & Experience

• Qualification: CA(SA) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification with relevant experience.
• Tax & Statutory Expertise: Comprehensive working knowledge of South African statutory compliance (SARS, CIPC, COIDA, DWT).
• Core Competencies: Advanced budgeting, financial modeling, forecasting, and control framework design.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven capability in managing external auditors, banking partners, PSPs, and executive stakeholders.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with financial AI tools (e.g., Power BI AI features), e-commerce/online gaming finance, or audit-ready dashboard development.
