Job Description:Set up Governance and Controls in the Finance function:
- Oversees the full accounting function – development of all accounting process and procedures, determines deadlines for submission
- Implements and monitors compliance with financial controls and procedures
- Deals with and resolves all finance related queries/requests from directors (ad hoc basis)
Management of the Operational Finance function:
- Oversees and manages the completion of the monthly management accounts
- Review and support producer cost invoicing monthly
- Provides authorisation of weekly payments including producer payments, creditor and Fruit creditor payments
- Manages communication and liaison with the Reserve to deal with requests or queries and new applications.
- Deals with current bankers including application for overdrafts and all bank related queries/applications/requests
Audit Management:
- Conducts yearly audit and reviewing of annual financial statements
- Manages the internal and external auditors
- Engage with auditors throughout process and respond to queries on tax returns
- Engages with auditors to identify possible updates and amendments to processes to optimize the accounting system
Cash flow Management:
- Reviews weekly cash flow and request amendments
- Cash flow management and communication to directors
- Communicates cashflow situation weekly
Budget Management:
- Gathers budget inputs and compiles first annual budget draft
- Reviews proposals and updates with directors
- On approval submit to Board to approve
- Conducts bi-annual reviews
QX finance set-up and maintenance:
- Yearly set-up of QX for the new season
- Set-up and maintenance of producer advances on a weekly basis
- Set-up and maintenance of creditors cost templates
- Set-up of cost code and maintenance
- Set-up and maintenance of agent commission
New Company Setups and Finance:
- Assisting with set-up for international structure (specifically around financial systems and procedures)
- Ensure POPIA compliance across the business
Directors’ meetings and AGM:
- Preparing board packs
- Presenting information to directors and shareholders
HR Administration:
- HR function – Recruitment/Set-up of new personnel and other ad hoc HR related issues
- Contracts – request input from consultants
- Provide basic HR administration support
- Payroll: Submitting information to administrators monthly and reviewing pay slips before execution
People Management:
- Manage the finance team
- Coach and mentoring of staff
- Setting of goals and objectives for the finance team
Qualifications:- CA (SA) qualification
- 7+ years of work experience in a similar role
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lead, monitor, and train a finance team where necessary
- Positive attitude
- Adaptable and open to new ideas and frequent changes
