Duties & Responsibilities

Position Overview :

The Financial Lead / Business Unit Leader Finance Business Unit will be responsible for the adoption of appropriate governance practices in the institution. One will also be responsible for effective coordination management and quality of work of the Finance Business Unit.

The Business Unit Leader (BUL) will advise the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on strategic issues relating to financial management, financial health, how to increase profitability in the long run, and ensure effective translation of all strategic initiatives into quantitative financial imperatives.

Key Performance Areas :

  • Policies and strategic input.
  • Tactical and operational functions.
  • Reporting.
  • Budgeting.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Essential Qualifications and Experience required :

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant of South Africa CA(SA) is essential.
  • A Postgraduate qualification in Business Management.
  • At least 10 years post articles experience with more than 5 years experience in a Senior Management role in a finance function of a large organisation.
  • One should be an innovative thinker, analytical, effective communicator, dynamic leader, and skilled negotiator and will be able to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of being involved in Digital Transformation Projects and/or the Implementation of ERP Systems.
