Duties & Responsibilities

An industry leader in engineering innovation is seeking a forward-thinking Finance Director to join their esteemed team.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise to navigate the financial landscape of a dynamic and progressive company, focusing on strategic financial planning and operational performance enhancement.

You will oversee daily management of transactional accounting systems, ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and statutory regulations, including meticulous oversight of journal entries and reconciliations.

Responsibilities include:
  • Developing, implementing, and overseeing financial management and accounting policies aligned with strategic objectives and compliance standards.
  • Managing the assets register to ensure accurate accounting for all assets, including current, fixed, and intangible assets.
  • Calculating and posting provisions, performing impairment tests, and maintaining financial manuals.
  • Conducting period-end closing, preparing financial and tax reports, and internal audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with IAS, IFRS, and statutory requirements.
  • Managing IT security activities in line with ISMS standards.
  • Recruiting, supervising, and developing a skilled finance team.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Matric, BCom Accounting, CTA, CA(SA), or CIMA qualification.
  • SAICA articles completed.
  • 8-10 years' experience, including 3 years as a financial manager, preferably in engineering.
  • Experience with Navision is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong analytical, probing, and observational skills.
  • Critical problem-solving ability.
  • Numerical proficiency, organization, and precision.
