Financial Controller – Southern Africa (Zimbabwe, Zambia, Angola, South Africa)

Are you a seasoned finance professional looking for a leadership role in Southern Africa? We are hiring a Financial Controller to oversee financial management, reporting, compliance, and strategic planning across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
KRA 1: Financial Management
- Ensuring that an efficient financial management system is in place.
- Managing Head Office coordination with the Finance and Accounts Team across the group.
- Handling relationships with external and internal auditors, financial institutions, and consultants.
- Overseeing bookkeeping, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Monitoring KPIs and ensuring adherence to financial risk management practices.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
KRA 2: Financial & Management Reporting
- Developing and maintaining accurate financial statements and reports.
- Ensuring timely distribution of financial reports across subsidiaries.
- Reviewing monthly results and implementing variance reporting.
- Managing cash flow and preparing forecasts.
KRA 3: Financial Audits
- Ensuring internal and external audits are conducted across the organization.
- Ensuring compliance with audit requirements and avoiding qualifications.
KRA 4: Regulatory Compliance/Government Reporting
- Ensuring regulatory compliance with taxation legislation across jurisdictions.
- Managing effective tax planning initiatives.
KRA 5: Budgeting & Forecasting
- Managing the preparation of project budgets and forecasts within funding limits.
- Ensuring accuracy in budgeting and forecasting.
- Reviewing and consolidating budget submissions.
KRA 6: Other Financial Responsibilities
- Ensuring correct wages and deductions processing.
- Maintaining an updated fixed assets register and general ledger.
- Managing insurance claims and premium payments.
Job Criteria
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or Accounting. CPA/ACCA qualification required.
Work Experience: 8+ years in a senior accounting/finance role.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Tier 1 ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting skills.
- Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and performance tracking.
