A Tour Operator and Hospitality Company based in Randburg, Johannesburg, is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller / Manager to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with a passion for the tourism and hospitality industry and a strong background in financial management.

Key Performance Areas:

1. Manage the full financial accounting function, including the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
2. Oversee budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management
3. Analyse financial data and provide insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
4. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, and company policies
5. Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, income, and expense tracking
6. Handle VAT, SARS submissions, and statutory reporting
7. Assist management with financial planning, investment analysis, and operational improvements
8. Implement and monitor internal controls and processes to reduce risk
9. Supervise and develop a small finance team

Requirements:

• BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related qualification (post-graduate qualification beneficial)
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, cash flow management, and budgeting processes
• Solid knowledge of South African tax laws and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, or similar
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
