They are urgently seeking a formally qualified Financial Assistant to manage and oversee the day-to-day financial responsibilities for their shareblock on the reserve. Qualifications and Experience Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar financial role
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in the conservation sector is a plus
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the shareblock
- Process payroll and manage staff benefits, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with financial regulations and governance standards
- Prepare financial reports and present findings to management
- Debtors : Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and follow-up on overdue accounts
- Creditors : Handle accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices and maintaining good relationships with suppliers
- Banking : Manage all banking activities, including reconciliations and cash flow management
- Cash Book : Maintain accurate cash book records and perform regular reconciliations
- Stock Control : Oversee inventory management and ensure accurate stock records
- Asset Register : Maintain and update the asset register, ensuring all assets are accounted for and properly documented
- Depreciation : Calculate and record depreciation for all assets
- Insurance : Manage insurance policies and ensure adequate coverage for all assets and liabilities
- Value Added Tax (VAT) : Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
- IRP5 Documents : Prepare and submit IRP5 documents for all employees
- Annual Audit : Assist with preparation for the annual audit and provide necessary documentation to auditors
- Member Files : Maintain and update member files, ensuring all information is accurate and current
- Staff Uniforms : Manage procurement and distribution of staff uniforms
