Company Overview

A diversified investment holding company is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team and provide strategic finance guidance to a newly acquired subsidiary within the group.

Location

This role will be based in Durban North.

Job & Company Description

The purpose of this role is to support the business through the finance function, working closely with the current Financial Manager.

Responsibilities

• Transactional and journal control and reconciliations
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and WIP balances
• Budgeting and forecasting for projects
• Implementing cost control measures
• Raising items for senior management attention

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of project-based environments, such as construction, engineering, or civil industries. You will report to the Group CFO, Group CEO, and Divisional Financial Manager.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting
• 5 to 7 years' experience in a full finance function role
• Experience in construction, building, engineering, or civil industries; understanding of project-based environments essential
• Knowledge of Sage software
• Experience with systems and process implementations
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Deadline-driven mindset

Remuneration
