Duties & Responsibilities

My client, a market leader in the gaming and entertainment industry based in Kwa Zulu Natal, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to be part of their dynamic team on a fixed-term contract.

As the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management of the department.

The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, willing to work long hours and on public holidays if required.

  • Effectively manage the administration and accounts departments, ensuring all processes are strictly in compliance with the gaming board and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist operations management to reduce costs and improve profit by analyzing & reporting financial data, especially deviations from the budget.
  • Manage the budget formulation process, resulting in accurate budgets delivered on time and closely monitored.
  • Maintain accurate records of company accounts, strictly in line with legal and unit office requirements.
  • Coordinate audits effectively and take prompt corrective actions where needed.
  • Ensure statutory reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Build a competent and motivated team through confident and caring leadership.
  • Investigate audits as required.
