ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversee daily financial operations in close collaboration with the CFO and finance team, ensuring seamless control.
- Manage all aspects of tax compliance, ensuring alignment with local regulations and timely submissions.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Coordinate and prepare for external audits, maintaining accurate and well-organized financial documentation.
- Lead financial system management and handle special projects that support the company's strategic goals.
- Administer cash flow planning to maintain adequate liquidity for operational and strategic needs.
- Develop, monitor, and report on departmental budgets, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Maintain accurate and compliant financial records in line with accounting regulations and best practices.
- Conduct routine reconciliations of all banking and credit card accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through detailed expense analysis and operational review.
- Support risk and compliance initiatives by ensuring full adherence to legal and financial regulations, including those governed by SARS.
- Contribute to capital planning and oversee asset management to safeguard company resources and maximize returns.
- Ensure the company's financial strategy is executed consistently across departments and aligned with broader business objectives.
Requirements
- Professional Designation such as CA(SA), CIMA, or SAIPA
- 5 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role
- FMCG / Manufacturing experience advantageous
- Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth financial analysis
- Proven leadership ability with experience guiding and inspiring finance teams to achieve goals
- Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and adept at juggling multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards, tax legislation, and core accounting principles
- Skilled in using accounting systems and the full Microsoft Office suite
- Sharp analytical thinker with a knack for breaking down complex financial data and turning it into practical strategic insights
- Clear and confident communicator able to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across all levels
