Job summary

A leading safari and hospitality group in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to manage their finance department. This hybrid role requires at least 2 days in the office each week and involves overseeing bank and cash management, accounts receivable and payable, and statutory compliance. Candidates must have a relevant Accounting or Finance degree and experience with cloud-based accounting software. Salary ranges from R600,000 to R780,000 CTC per annum depending on experience.

Qualifications

• A qualified PA(SA); AGA(SA); CGMA or similar.
• Minimum of an Accounting or Finance Degree with a strong academic record.
• Experience using any Cloud-based Accounting software required.

Job description

Our client, a world-class luxury safari and hospitality group that runs lodges in Southern Africa, is looking for a settled and experienced Financial Controller to join their team in Cape Town.

The Financial Controller would be responsible for managing the finance department of two legal entities within the Group. You will work closely with the Group Finance Manager and CFO.

At present, the role is a hybrid role, which will require at least 2 days per week to be spent in the office, travelling would be a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee bank and cash
• Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Manage Fixed Assets
• Oversight of General Ledger and GL reconciliations
• Input into the management accounts
• Statutory compliance (Income tax; VAT; PAYE; CIPC etc)
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS

Qualifications and Experience:

• A qualified PA(SA); AGA(SA); CGMA or similar.
• A minimum of an Accounting or Finance Degree is non-negotiable, and a strong academic record is preferred.
• Experience using SAGE Online or any Cloud-based Accounting software (XERO; Quickbooks etc) required.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Highly organised and proactive, with exceptional attention to detail. Strong time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues.

Salary:

• R600,000 – R780,000 CTC per annum (depending on experience)
