Financial Controller

A dynamic company within the learning and development industry is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team on-site in Durban North, KZN.

The Financial Controller would report directly to the Financial Manager and will be pivotal in assisting the business’s growth trajectory, driving performance and efficiency, and adding value to the overall strategic financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the finance function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance.
2. Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
3. Prepare consolidated management accounts across multiple jurisdictions.
4. Manage financial reporting and audit processes with external auditors.
5. Improve and implement financial controls, processes, and systems.
6. Develop and maintain internal KPIs and dashboards to track business performance.
7. Collaborate closely with department heads to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
8. Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements in each operating jurisdiction.
9. Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.
10. Support commercial decision-making with financial modelling and analysis.
11. Work closely with the executive leadership team on business strategy, funding, and investor relations.
12. Contribute to the implementation and oversight of group-wide ERP systems and finance automation.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Newly qualified CGMA; or Part CGMA, AGA(SA) or PA(SA).
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance as a minimum.
3. 3+ years of accounting experience (articles highly preferred).
4. Experience using Sage Intacct or any related system is advantageous.
5. Strong communicator; reasonably extroverted; team player.
6. Strong initiative, and happy to deal with varied tasks as they arise.

Salary:

1. R300 000 to R360 000 / year CTC
