Company Description

CNBC Africa, First in Business Worldwide, is a premier pan-African business and financial television network providing real-time coverage of financial markets and international business news. The channel offers a 24-hour global business briefing with programming from Africa, the US, and Asia. CNBC Africa is essential viewing for senior business leaders across the continent and is available 24-hours on DStv channel 410 in sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities:

Supporting role for the annual budgeting process and updates thereto during the financial year.

·Monitor the budgets against actual performance to identify variances and provide explanations accordingly.

·Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts.

·Assistance with preparation and review of quarterly Board meeting packs.

·Produce ad hoc management information reports as required.

·Contribute to the improvement of work processes and financial systems.

·Verify all transactions for compliance with CNBC Africa’s financial policies and procedures as well as in

accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

·Review and ensure that all journal posting are properly documented and recorded in the according records.

·Monitor and review transaction flows and promote process improvements between functions.

·Oversee the accounts receivable, payable and cashbook functions to ensure that these are all being maintained

correctly.

·Review all month-end reconciliations.

·Mange the company’s cash flow requirements on a daily basis and maintain banking activities.

·Maintain the fixed asset register.

·Prepare and submit monthly vat returns and annual taxation requirements.

·Assist with B-BBEE compliance.

·Prepare the year-end audit file and assist with additional audit requirements and explanations.

·Any other task as assigned by the Group Head: Finance & Compliance from time to time.
