Job summary

A leading company in East London is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to oversee and manage their financial activities. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, with substantial experience in finance leadership, particularly within the construction and property sectors. This role demands excellent analytical skills, proficiency in budgeting and forecasting, and the ability to lead a medium-sized team while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in finance with at least 2 years in a similar role.
  • Experience leading a team of about 10 is essential.
  • Construction and Property finance experience is highly advantageous.

Job description

  • Oversee and manage all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to senior management
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and the board of directors
  • Manage the company's cash flow and ensure proper allocation of funds
  • Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and other stakeholders
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting
  • Manage the company's tax planning and compliance
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's financial practices are in line with current standards

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree / diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Relevant professional certification is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in finance with 2 + years in a similar role
  • Proven ability to lead a medium size team of +-10
  • Construction and Property finance experience highly advantageous
