Job Description
About the role:

The Financial Capability Worker (FCW) supports Aboriginal people in engaging with Lutheran Care's programs and accessing financial wellbeing services.

This includes:
  • Providing on-ground support to help people understand financial concepts.
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of budgeting and financial literacy sessions.
  • Ensuring communication is culturally sensitive.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Capability & Emergency Relief Services: Provide one-on-one financial capability support, conduct non-accredited workshops on financial capability, deliver emergency relief services to clients in crisis, engage positively with Aboriginal people, and deliver culturally appropriate services. Participate in remote travel to provide support in communities.
  • Referrals, Networking, and Advocacy: Develop positive relationships with internal and external services, make referrals appropriate to clients' needs, engage in local partnerships and networks.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure accurate information is collected and stored, complete comprehensive case notes and reports.
  • Professional Development: Attend compulsory training and professional development opportunities, obtain necessary qualifications as required by the funding body.
