We are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced, and reliable Finance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting financial reporting and compliance. (Ideal candidate to be based in Durban - mid weight role)

Overview

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to maintain financial records, process transactions, assist with VAT and statutory returns, and support external reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
  • Process supplier invoices and customer statements
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
  • Assist with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns
  • Prepare and submit monthly management reports
  • Maintain asset registers and depreciation schedules
  • Liaise with external accountants/auditors as required
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and accounting standards
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Finance Assistant or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Accpac
  • Must have hospitality experience
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
