Job description

Our client is looking for a Advisor that specialises in Medical Aid / Schemes, Gap Cover and Medical Insurance, and that's fluent in English and Afrikaans (read, write, understand). It's a nationwide position. Your :

Formal Education :

  • Matric
  • Bachelor of Commerce or related degree will be advantageous
  • Annual CPD points up to date
  • CMS accreditation

Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years relevant advice / consultation experience in the health insurance industry for both Individual and group business.
  • Experience in dealing with Financial Service advisors and product providers
  • Proven track record of team management

Knowledge :

  • Product Knowledge : Medical Aid, Medical Insurance and Gap Cover product knowledge
  • Legislative knowledge – Medical Schemes Act a must
  • Systems knowledge – Quotation application of product providers
  • Technical Knowledge – Commercial and Legal (Compliance)
  • Technological : MS Office, Zoom and other electronic platform tools of engagement

will enable you to do the following duties :

  • Provide inputs for annual sales target as and when required
  • Grow and maintain relationships to promote leads from advisors, to ensure sales targets are reached
  • Participate in monthly meetings with Executive to assess progress
  • Assist the Executive with contingency planning in the event of shortfalls
  • Identify opportunities and discuss with Executive
  • Present industry and client specific solutions to groups on split risk : Health Insurance, Primary Health Care, Medical schemes and EAP’s

Clients :

  • Consult with prospective clients to assess needs and collect the required information to make the most suitable and cost-effective healthcare product recommendation
  • Consult with existing clients annually to review previous recommendations and ensure the clients’ needs are still appropriately covered. Recommend and implement changes on policies / memberships where required
  • Ensure that medical aid quotations, product comparisons and other information provided are correctly compiled, include all quotations and advice provided is correct Provide accurate quotations and advice on medical schemes, Gap cover and Health insurance
  • Maintain existing and build new relationships with Efficient Wealth financial advisors to provide healthcare services to their clients.
  • Assist with and participate in client education activities and campaigns

People :

  • Manage the day-to-day workflow of the support team to ensure turnaround times are achievable
  • Communicate capacity constraints to Executive
  • Provide guidance and assistance with escalated requests
  • Identify and report training gaps to Executive
  • Implement the division’s personnel development plan
  • Supervise junior health advisors

Systems and Processes :

  • Internal processes and systems

Apply internal and external systems to log all interactions with clients

  • Notify referral advisors continuously of progress
  • Ensure quality of data on the internal CRM (own and the team’s)
  • Review and assess call logs to measure the efficiency of the support team service delivery and processes on an ongoing basis and report to Executive
  • Product Provider interactions

Understand and correctly use product provider documents for quotations

  • Ensure the quality of data between parties is correct to manage risks
  • Handle and resolve escalated requests
  • Stay abreast of product changes and updates
  • Compliance

Remain up to date with product specific training

  • Meet annual CPD points requirement
  • Stay abreast of industry developments
  • Ensure that compliance processes and legislative requirements are always adhered to
  • Deal with complaints in cooperation with the Executive
  • Administration

Ensure accurate record keeping on system

  • Resolve escalations timeously
  • Guide and assist claims assistants and clients
  • Ensure that all paperwork is obtained from clients to enable administrative personnel to do their work
  • Manage the client healthcare provider onboarding administration process
  • Assist with client queries
