Job description

Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited, is a leading financial services provider in South Africa's entry-level and emerging middle market. SDM focuses on understanding clients' unique needs and offers a range of simple, affordable financial solutions, including funeral insurance, education savings, life cover, and personal accident plans.

What will you do?

  • Provide financial advice and develop financial plans aligned with the customer value proposition and the treating customers fairly framework.
  • Work with allocated key accounts and markets.
  • Offer excellent customer service to Sanlam clients.
  • Arrange appointments with potential customers within key accounts and markets.
  • Inform customers and the public about new products.
  • Maintain an understanding of Sanlam products and stay updated on changes in products or regulations.
  • Ensure ongoing professional development to maintain qualifications and certifications.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and training opportunities.
  • Report daily activities using relevant technology platforms.
  • Gather data to meet weekly and monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to identify priorities and plan activities.

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualifications & experience:

  • FSB recognized qualification or credits as per the latest FSB guidelines.
  • Matric (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • RE5 qualification is advantageous.
  • Clear credit and criminal records.
  • FAIS compliance.
  • At least two years of sales or marketing experience.

Knowledge:

  • Sales tactics and approaches.
  • Client service and engagement.
  • Relevant regulatory frameworks and standards.
  • Sanlam insurance products (preferred).

Additional qualifications:

Diploma with no experience or Grade 12 with 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

Processing new and existing business, appointment preparation, client liaison, and partnership building.

Personal Attributes:

Efficient work process management, effective communication, action orientation, and strategic planning.
