Senior Credit Controller

The IIE's Varsity College National Office in Waterfall (Midrand) has vacancies for three Financial Administrators (Cashbook and Credit Control) on a fixed-term contract.
Duties And Responsibilities
Financial Assistance and Bursary Management
- Review bursary/financial assistance applications against required supporting documentation.
- Decide on approval or rejection based on provided information and criteria.
- Engage with external funding suppliers for approved applicants requiring funding, including issuing invoices, tracking payments, and submitting commission requests.
- Manage communication and confirmation of acceptance with applicants.
- Track application statuses.
- Manage bursaries with automatic rollover and SETA bursaries.
- Report and communicate application statuses to campuses weekly/monthly as required.
Cashbook and Debit Orders
- Process daily bank statements and escalate unknown payments.
- Process weekly banking from the cash office, including credit/debit card payments.
- Manage legal payments on pre-legal accounts and handle bad debt write-offs.
- Identify payments for other campuses, prepare journals, and escalate for approval and posting.
- Prepare payment batches in D365 for approval and posting.
- Process debit orders monthly via Absa banking system or D365.
- Handle returned unpaid debit orders promptly.
Registration
- Receipting of daily cashbooks and unallocated payments.
- Prepare pro-forma invoices and receipting of fees in SIMS for EFT payments outside the portal.
- Batch submission and processing of AVS checks during registration.
- Process pre-registration fees and bursaries post-enrollment.
- Reconcile bursaries between SIMS and D365 post-registration.
Quality Management, Projects, and Reporting
- Maintain and update department trackers.
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding payment and bursary statuses.
- Review and approve all communications before sending.
- Assist in preparing reports and ensure data accuracy.
- Support projects and training initiatives.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Matric or equivalent; Financial qualification (Certificate/Diploma) preferred.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years in a finance role.
