Job description

The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting decision-making through financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure adherence to tax laws, accounting standards (GAAP / IFRS), and other financial regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, VAT reports, and other tax-related filings.
  • Analyze costs and financial data to provide insights for business improvement.
  • Oversee invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Identify areas for financial efficiency and implement improvements.
  • Liaise with management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred).
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the field
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
  • Accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
