Financial Accountant Pinelands Cape Town

Our client in Pinelands, Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant with at least 5 years of post-article experience, aiming to progress into a Financial Manager role. Applicants must have completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.

Salary is negotiable. This is an office-based position.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• BCom, BCompt, or BAcc degree
• Completion of SAIPA or SAICA Articles
• Minimum of 5 years post-article experience
• Proven experience with Sage One Payroll (for 30 staff) and Sage One Accounting System is advantageous

Responsibilities

1. Financial management and control of the Head Office, coordinating financial activities
2. Managing the Financial Department with 2 team members
3. Overseeing corporate budgeting, financial management, and monitoring processes
4. Financial analysis and reporting, ensuring timely preparation and accuracy of reports
5. Reviewing financial data for correctness and completeness
6. Preparing financial statements for board approval
7. Participating in performance evaluations and skill development of finance staff
8. Managing salary calculations and distributions, including monthly payroll processing
9. Reconciliation and submission of EMP201, VAT, EMP501, and IRP5s
10. Establishing financial strategies to improve profitability
11. Reviewing and adjusting budgets as necessary
12. Supporting accounts payable and receivable activities
13. Performing account reconciliations
14. Preparing documentation for external audits and liaising with auditors
15. Attending executive meetings to discuss financial matters
